Tom Brady is a Fantasy Football Dream……. or Nightmare!

Tom Brady threw for 517 yards and 4 TD’s last night. Goods news for fantasy owners that have him on their rosters, but what about the rest of us.

He just happened to be my fantasy league opponent’s starting QB, and yes, he singlehandedly beat my team with a once in a lifetime performance.

Brady scored 34.98 points last night. Did I mention, Wes Welker is on my fantasy team, but I sat him and instead gave All-Pro receiver Larry Fitzgerald a whirl; in true cliche fashion, hindsight is always 20/20.

Either way, Brady will be a ‘beast’  in fantasy leagues everywhere. He’ll help mediocre team owners win championships all over America. Is there any equal, kryptonite or nemesis that can equalize his fantasy greatness? Only Peyton Manning, but he’s injured, maybe out for the season and on my fantasy team. What a way to start the year.

[text-box] For the second consecutive year, Roger Federer is ousted in the quarterfinal round at Wimbledon. Federer was defeated in five sets by France’s Jo-Wilfried Tsonga this afternoon at the All England Club in London.

The sixteen-time Grand Slam winner has won 6 Wimbledon titles, second all-time behind Pete Sampras, but hasn’t won the coveted title since 2009. With 67 total titles, Federer  is regarded as the best tennis player ever by many analysts. Federer, currently ranked third in the world,  will be 30 in August, an age that marks the beginning of the end for most professional tennis players. [/text-box]

Lakers Hire A New Head Coach

[text-box] According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard the Los Angeles Lakers have hired Mike Brown to be their new head coach. The Lakers gave the former Cavs’ coach a 4-yr/$18.25M deal. The deal also has a fourth year option.

Brown was LeBron James’ head coach for five seasons in Cleveland. The Cavaliers made the playoffs in each of his five seasons winning 60+ games twice. Long time Lakers assistant Brian Shaw was thought to be a shoe-in for the job after the departure of Phil Jackson, but his chances were diminished when Brown showed interest. Brown was also the top choice for the Golden State Warriors head coach position.[/text-box]
