And here’s a shirtless Steve Spurrier during yesterday’s South Carolina practice

We’re very familiar with Steve Spurrier. We’re also very familiar with seeing Steve Spurrier without a shirt on.

And since we’re all familiar, Spurrier had no problem going shirtless during South Carolina’s practice yesterday. And though the picture is blurry, we definitely know a shirtless Spurrier when we see him.

Nick Saban tells recruit he will offer him a scholarship only if he accepts said scholarship today

Fresh off the controversy he stirred up in Atlanta with the 2012 class, Nick Saban is back creating a stir in Atlanta with the 2013 class.  He kicked this cycle off by sending an Atlanta recruit 105 letters in a 24 hour period.  And now he has reportedly gone after one of Georgia’s top recruits.  But not exactly how you think he would.

During an unofficial visit in Tuscaloosa, Saban summoned Sandy Creek High School defensive back Shaq Wiggins to his office. Saban did his usual buttering up a recruit and whatever else Saban does to entice a recruit to sign with the Tide.  Then, something unusual (or maybe not so unusual for Saban) happened.  Saban offered a scholarship to Wiggins contingent upon Wiggins committing to Alabama that day.

Saban, you sly devil you.

And here’s Oklahoma coach Jay Norvell offering a recruit a full scholarship on Twitter

It’s not every day that we get to go behind the scenes on what goes on in the world of recruiting.  But luckily for us, Oklahoma assistant coach Jay Norvell gave us a glimpse of what really goes down in recruiting on his Twitter page.

It was there that Norvell fired off tweet after tweet to recruits offering scholarships, inviting recruits to Oklahoma’s “Jr. Day”, proclaiming that Oklahoma has the best offense in the nation, and even giving out his personal cell phone number.

Of course, the tweets have been removed, but as we all know, the internet never forgets.
