Roy Halladay helped rescue a naked man that was attacked by a giant snake in the Amazon

Back in January, there was a story floating around about Roy Halladay being part of a fishing expedition that helped tow a naked man’s boat.  From there, the story got twisted and all of a sudden, Halladay was said to have been wrestling giant snakes in the Amazon.

While a “Roy Halladay was wrestling giant snakes!” story would be the best thing since sliced bread, it unfortunately didn’t happen that way.  But the real story isn’t too shabby either.

Let’s Let Curt Schilling Try To Rile Us Up About Steroid Use

[text-box] “There’s a lot of good young pitchers in the game right now, but far fewer players are cheating,” Schilling said during an interview with the station. “One of the bigger reasons they all did (steroids) was it allowed them to be April fresh in September and that helped you hit home runs. Anybody who ever says performance-enhancing drugs didn’t help players produce offensive numbers is full of crap.”

“There isn’t a team in the last 20 years that has won clean,” he said.

And Here Are A Few Disturbing Quotes From People That Have Named Their Dog ‘Jeter’

[text-box] Jack Beibel, 16, of Montclair said he named his dog Jeter because the shortstop was his favorite player. His cockapoo has taken to it.

“If we yell, ‘Yankees,’ he starts barking,’ ” Beibel said. “And if we yell, ‘Red Sox,’ he kneels down.”

Riiiight.

“We named him Jeter because we always loved Derek Jeter and we respect him,” said Moss, who has no ties to the New York area and is not a Yankees fan. “We believe that he has morals and that he really cares about the games. That’s what we look for in baseball players. Do they respect the game or is it just a business for them?”

Well alright.

Dodgers’ Part-Time Staff Paychecks Bounce

Dodgers spokesman Josh Rawitch said Thursday that when the team filed for bankruptcy, its accounts were frozen for 48 hours.

Some security guards and ushers found their paychecks had bounced. Those who have direct deposit weren’t affected.

Rawitch says the checks were reissued Wednesday.
