The future of former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Chad Billingsley was in doubt. Billingsley hasn’t pitched since April 2013 after having Tommy John surgery. Billingsley also had another procedure done last June to repair a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. With the 30-year-old scheduled to be ready for spring training, the market for his services has changed.

Eyebrows were raised when Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost elected to start Jason Vargas over James Shields for Game 4 of the ALCS. Shields complained about his back and it got worse as the ALCS continued. Even though it worked out for the Royals, fans still wanted to know why Shields didn’t get the start.

After back to back postseason disappointments, the Los Angeles Dodgers front office is not happy.
