Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson doesn’t seem to be in a rush to sign with a team. At 34 years old, Jackson still believes he can play in the NFL. Even though he is still very open to returning to the Bucs, Jackson probably is looking at teams who are Super Bowl contenders. Jackson was on WDAE-AM 620 with The Pat And Aaron Show and talked about why hasn’t he signed with anyone yet. Jackson told the host that he is waiting for the right situation to present itself.
“I’m just going to wait until the right opportunity presents itself,” Jackson said. “I’m assuming it may be later this spring/early summer when people can kind of evaluate their roster, get through the draft, and know exactly what they need and what the value is. For me man, I’m being patient.”
Even though Jackson is getting up there in age, you can never go wrong with a big body receiver to help out with depth at the position. I think once the NFL Draft is over, I could see multiple teams start to reach out to Jackson. I wouldn’t be shocked if he is signed and at that team’s mini-camp in June.
