Paul Millsap was not happy with the Wizards style of play in Game 1

On Sunday, the Washington Wizards took a 1-0 series lead against the Atlanta Hawks. It didn’t take long to see what type of game this one was going to be as it was physical from the start. Forward Paul Millsap was in the thick of it all as the Wizards were very physical with him. There was plenty of back and forth talk between Millsap and Markieff Morris. After the game, Millsap made it known that he was not happy with the Wizards style of play in Game 1.

“The difference in the game is we were playing basketball and they were playing MMA,” said Millsap, who finished with 19 points and just two rebounds in the 114-107 loss.

“They were physical,” Millsap said. “When the game’s like that, we’ve just got to match their physicality. But again, we’ve got to go get some (MMA) moves and bring them back to the court.”

I’m not going to lie, my expectations for this series were very low until I watched Game 1. This was probably the most physical series right and now I can’t wait to watch how this series plays out.
