Damian Lillard says Draymond Green’s trash talk is motivation

Coming into Sunday playoff game between the Golden State Warriors and the Portland Trailblazers, point guard Damian Lillard was very confident. Even though Lillard had an impressive showing, the Warriors would end up taking a 1-0 lead in the series. Throughout the game, I’m sure many of you noticed how forward Draymond Green was having words with Lillard. The Blazers star point guard took notice as well and plans to use it as motivation.

“For me, it’s just going to make me raise the level of my game because I take [Green’s trash talk] as a challenge,” Lillard said after his team’s 121-109 loss. “I’m going to take exception to it, and I’m going to say something back. That’s what it’s going to be, as long as that’s how he’s approaching it — it’s going to be coming right back.”

I really don’t think Green is being disrespectful when he is trash talking his opponents, but I can see why Lillard is feeling some type of way. Lillard had 34 points on Sunday, so if he has another level that he can reach, I can’t wait to see game 2.
