Report: DeAndre Jordan has fired his agent after crazy summer

As you all know, Jordan agreed to sign with the Dallas Mavericks, but then changed his mind a few days later and resigned with the Clippers. Both the Mavericks and the Clippers were fined during the pursuit of Jordan and also made the NBA think about how they can handled situations like this in the future. Now the agency who was involved in this with Jordan is now looking for a new client. According to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, Jordan has fired his agent after his eventful summer.

Jordan informed agents Dan Fegan and Jarinn Akana last week that he was moving “in another direction,” said an NBA official not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

Jordan told his agents of his decision to drop them a few days after the NBA fined the Clippers $250,000 on Aug. 25 for violating rules that prohibit teams from offering players unauthorized business or investment opportunities.

Despite leaving Relativity Sports, Jordan still had to pay the agency the 4% it earned when he re-signed with the Clippers for $88 million over four years.

I think it is best for both parties to part ways with each other after everything that went down this season. Hopefully, players and agents learned from this situation and deal with negotiations better than Jordan’s representatives did.
