Kristaps Porzingis has been eating up to 5,000 calories a day trying to bulk up for the season

images (75)While New York Knicks fans was not happy when he was selected in the 2015 NBA Draft, rookie Kristaps Porzingis development could be pretty interesting. After surprising during the NBA Summer League, that was still the concern that he is to light to play his position. Add that to the comments that team president Phil Jackson said that Porzingis could ended up like Shawn Bradley. So as the season is getting closer, Porzingis has been eating up to 5,000 calories a day trying to bulk up for the season.

Porzingis skipped the Eurobasket international tournament this summer, at the Knicks’ request, and said he was happy to spend that time getting stronger. He has added 11 pounds since the draft and hopes to add four more before the start of the season. He’s eating up to 5,000 calories per day and lifting weights twice daily as often as possible.

“It’s the upper body,’’ Porzingis previously told The Post in an exclusive interview. “Guys can’t push me around that easy, and I still got time to get a little stronger. I can’t wait for training camp.’’

As a Knicks fan, I starting to believe that Porzingis is going to turn some heads this season. I still don’t know if he will become a star yet though.
