One player that has a lot of scouts attention is Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook. The Big Ten potential have three first rounder quarterbacks and Cook is leading the way. Cook’s former high school coach has said teams have been reaching out to him looking into Cook’s background. According to Jon Solomon of CBS Sports, the Cleveland Browns are showing a lot of interest in¬†Cook as well.

After 35 years coaching at Walsh Jesuit High School in Ohio, Gerry Rardin is accustomed to NFL teams sending him forms seeking background information on prospects he coached. Earlier this month, though, something new happened. Rardin, who recently retired, got his first personal visit from a pro team when the Cleveland Browns stopped by to discuss Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook.

“They feel like Connor is going to be one of the more important guys in the draft, for sure,” Rardin said.

At some point this season, the Browns will give Johnny Manziel a chance to prove if he was the right pick. While many will thing that the Browns might be looking for another franchise quarterback, I think they are just researching Cook just in case they decide to go in another direction.
