Report: Kings have offered four-year, $64 million contract to Wesley Matthews

images (40)Since free agency started, the Sacramento Kings have been very quite and that is a good thing. The Kings need to get their front office on the same page after the show they put on before and after the NBA Draft. Now that everything has calmed down, the team can start going after free agents. Head coach George Karl wants to play faster on offense and his previous teams love to shoot three pointers. Well the small forward that they are pursuing is a knock down three-point shooter and a very good defender. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Kings have offered a four-year, $64 million contract to Portland Trailblazers forward Wesley Matthews.

Matthews is still recovering from an Achilles tear, so many teams have been cautious about offering him a lot of money. The Kings must clearly believe that Matthews will have no issue once healthy by giving him $16 million annually.
