Report: Muhammad Wilkerson expected to attend the Jets’ minicamp

imageThe New York Jets organization hasn’t been happy with DE Muhammad Wilkerson since the off-season began. Wilkerson has skipped all of the team’s off-season activities because he wants a long-term contract. New head coach Todd Bowles expressed his disappointment as well with the way Wilkerson has handled things. Well it looks like Bowles will finally get a chance to talk to his star DE. According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, teammate Sheldon Richardson says Wilkerson told him he will attend the Jets’ mini camp.

“Last week he told me he was going to show up. From what I know, he’s going to be there. That was good enough for me, and all I needed to hear.”
Richardson also said, “he is vital and proven player on our team. Leo (Leonard Williams) has the potential to still be a monster on our defense. I’ll get a better idea of him in camp and in the preseason. We haven’t played any games yet. I know what kind penetration Mo gets and how disruptive he is. Whatever coin he’s asking for is well-deserved.”

The mini camp is mandatory so if Wilkerson decided not to show up, he would’ve been fined. I wonder how will he act with the new coaching staff once he arrives.
