Report: Jacob Park has left Georgia’s football program

6_3006378With the start of the 2015 season a few months away, high school signees and transfer players are starting to make their way on campus. One team that many people will be watching once fall camp starts is the Georgia Bulldogs. Head coach Mark Richt’s team have a very talented team, but no quarterback. Brice Ramsey was considered the leader for the job with highly touted Jacob Park and Fanton Bauta right behind him. Last week, Former Virginia QB  Greyson Lambert transferred into the program to add more competition to the position. With Lambert arrival, Park has decided to leave the Bulldogs football program.

Dawgs247 has confirmed through multiple sources that redshirt freshman quarterback Jacob Park is no longer with the Georgia football team. In his second season with UGA, Park was thought to be a major contender for the Bulldogs’ open quarterback job going into the spring, but received far fewer first-team reps than Brice Ramsey or Faton Bauta in any of the team’s scrimmages.

It is not yet known where Park will continue his football career. This news comes on the heels of UGA’s decision last week to accept a transfer from former Virginia quarterback Greyson Lambert.

The job now becomes a battle between Bauta, Ramsey, and Lambert with neither signal caller who was with the team in the spring having emerged as the clear front-runner at this time.

There were a lot of questions about Park’s skill level, due to the competition he played against in high school. It will be interesting to see where he might end up at.
