images (34)I know a lot of people complain about NFL owners not letting entertainers used their stadiums for their shows. Most entertainers like to use NFL stadiums because it usually holds more people than an arena. Well the guys who are responsible for the grass at Lambeau Field have found themselves in a tight situation. This past weekend, the historic stadium was the site for a concert headlined by Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean. After the show was over and the stage was removed, the groundskeepers know that they have a lot of work to do. According to Packers spokesman Aaron Popkey, there is now a large area of dead grass inside Lambeau Field.

“We did have some wear and tear on the field. We expected that,” Popkey said. “These are all things we anticipated and planned for. As the season goes on, that will be the true test.”

Hopefully Mother Nature helps out with ideal growing conditions,” Popkey said. “It will be a little bit before we can determine the damage that really is.”

The Packers know that they need to get the grass back healthy before August 8. The team will be having their annually family night at the stadium, so they hope the grass will be better by then.
