Report: Bucks expected to make a run at Brook Lopez if he opts out

images (11)The Milwaukee Bucks surprised everyone by making the playoffs in head coach Jason Kidd’s first season. With the Bucks considered to be young and upcoming, they will be looking for free agents to help them get to the next level. While they are not expected to be in the LaMarcus Aldridge sweepstakes, the Bucks have their eyes focused on another big man. According to Gery Woelfel of he Racine Journal Times, the Bucks plan to make a run at Brooklyn Nets big man Brook Lopez if he opts out.

If Brooklyn center Brook Lopez opts out of his contract, which is for $16.8 million, one of the teams he may consider, according to some NBA officials, is the Bucks. Lopez has a good relationship with Bucks coach Jason Kidd, who coached him in Brooklyn last season.

Since Kidd did coach Lopez when he was in Brooklyn, I could see this happening. The problem for the Bucks is that Lopez will be heavily pursued by a lot of teams with more money.
