Video: Robert Griffin III laughs off the talk of the Redskins drafting Marcus Mariota

downloadIt seems like this is a make or break year for Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III. The team has an important decision to make if they plan on keeping Griffin around beyond 2015.  The Redskins have until May 3 to decided if they will pick up Griffin’s fifth-year option. If they decide not too, then this season becomes a contract year for their star QB. There has also been a lot of talk about whether or not the Redskins are looking to drafted Oregon’s Marcus Mariota. Griffin did an interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News and was asked if his feelings were hurt with all the Redskins-Mariota talk. As you can see, Griffin doesn’t seem fazed at all.

“C’mon man,” he said. “The way I look at it is as long as I’m here with the Washington Redskins and they say I’m the guy, then I’m the guy. I’m ready to go.”

Griffin has always been confident in his abilities so I’m not surprised at his response one bit. I do think that the Redskins will draft a QB at some point in the draft, but I would be shocked if it was during the first round.
