Kenny Bayless to make $25,000 to referee Mayweather-Pacquiao

Kenny-Bayless-994684May 2 is approaching very fast as Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao prepare for the fight of their careers. While many know that both fighters are expected to get major paydays, they won’t be the only one cashing out.65-year-old Kenny Bayless has overseen many championship fights and will be the referee for Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. But Bayless probably can’t wait until the fight is over as he is expected to receive $25,000 to referee this fight.

65-year-old officiating veteran Kenny Bayless was announced as the referee for the upcoming Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao megafight, and Bayless, who has a wealth of experience with both fighters, was an obvious choice. Bayless has previously refereed seven Pacquiao fights and five Mayweather fights, and is generally regarded to be the best referee in boxing.

For his efforts, Bayless will earn a record $25,000, and the three judges will each earn $20,000. That may sound like a lot of money, but given the magnitude of the event (the superfight is expected to generate as much as $500 million in total revenue), Bayless may actually be underpaid.

Even though you would think Bayless would get paid more than $25,000, I’m sure you won’t hear any complaints from him.
