Jaguars haven’t been given any updates on the status of Justin Blackmon

Justin-Blackmon-Doug-Pensinger-GettyThe Jacksonville Jaguars have been made it clear that they are committed to keeping WR Justin Blackmon. The former Oklahoma State star has played since the 2013 season. General manager Dave Caldwell was asked about Blackmon status for the 2015 season. Caldwell says the Jags haven’t been given any updates on the availability of their formerĀ first round pick.

“Our process hasn’t changed,” Caldwell said. “Plan to go without him, but if he emerges, he emerges and he’s going to go in with those top guys and compete with those other guys. Hopefully we’re able to get some news, but if not, we weren’t planning on it, we’re just going to go.”

Caldwell said the team doesn’t know if Blackmon has applied for reinstatement. The NFL Players Association told the Times-Union last week they had no update on Blackmon’s status.

I think the Jags believe Blackmon can still help them as they continue to turnover their roster. If Blackmon can keep out of trouble, the Jags potentially have a playmaker at WR.
