It’s been a painful week and a half for Tiger Woods. After withdrawing from the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational last week, many are skeptical if Woods will play in this year’s PGA Championship. The deadline to register was 5 p.m. Tuesday and Woods’ name was not on the list. But according to the Golf Channel, Woods has been giving more time.
The deadline to register for the season’s final major was 5 p.m. (ET) on Tuesday, but Woods – who is home in Florida undergoing treatment for his ailing back – asked for additional time through his manager, Mark Steinberg, Golf Channel’s Steve Sands reported on Tuesday.
According to the PGA, Woods has until his 8:35 a.m. opening-round tee time on Thursday to register. Woods was one of six players this week to request an extension to register.
It will be interesting to see if Woods will be healthy enough to play.
