With the Ed O’Bannon lawsuit going on, one would have guessed that the NCAA would be focusing on dealing with the suit. And if you are the University of Hawaii, you were certainly hoping that was the case. But apparently, the Rainbow Warriors have been under investigation by the NCAA since January.
The issue stems from a self-reported incident in which paperwork was altered to admit an athlete. According to a report, investigators were down in Honolulu Tuesday to conduct interviews with head coach Gib Arnold and his staff.
“An NCAA investigator plans to interview Hawaii basketball coach Gib Arnold and two assistant coaches for its ongoing investigation of potential rules violations, university athletics officials said”.
“They are doing some final interviews. That is my understanding,” Hawaii Athletics Director Ben Jay said.
Well it looks like the NCAA has been keeping themselves busy outside of the O’Bannon stuff after all.
