Carolina Panthers WR Jason Avant can relate with Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson. Both have had their problem with Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly. While Jackson’s release garnered more attention, Avant’s release in March was relatively quiet.
Now with the Panthers, Avant said that he saw the writing on the wall months before his release.
“I knew that was coming maybe four games into last season,” Avant said. “When they stop calling your number and guys start running some of the routes that you run – I knew from the beginning that I didn’t fit his style of offense, in that I’m a crafty guy that gets open in an atypical way.”
It sounds like Kelly wants things done a certain way and if you don’t play by his rules, you will be gone.
