New York Knicks Raymond Felton was arrested early Tuesday morning on three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
According to a police spokesman, Felton was in possession of a firearm that he was not registered to have. Police wanted to speak with Felton following the Knicks’ loss to the Mavericks on Monday night. Felton obliged and turned himself in at 12:05 am on Tuesday.
Felton is expected to have his first court appearance on Tuesday afternoon.
New York is notorious for its tough gun laws. Those same gun laws landed former New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress in prison for two years after shooting himself in a New York night club.
