New Texas head coach Charlie Strong isn’t wasting any time getting involved in the war of words with his school’s biggest in-state rival, Texas A&M.
After watching the Aggies pull in top 5 class, Strong was asked about competing against Kevin Sumlin and Texas A&M’s “Swagcopter” that it uses during recruiting trips.
Here is what Strong had to say about that:
When asked about Kevin Sumlin being “Coach Cool” with a “Swagcopter” etc., Charlie Strong said: “We’re not going to be a gadget program.”

On competing with “SwagCopters,” Strong said: “The univ. speaks for itself. We don’t need gadgets. We’re not going to be a gadget program.”

Strong is a no-nonsense type of guy so I’m not that surprised about his comments, but he has a lot of work to because Texas A&M dominated the state in recruiting this year.
