On Sunday, San Diego State running back Adam Muema left the NFL Combine without doing any drills due to religious reasons. But things got very interesting after Muema spoke to U-T San Diego about why he left the combine.
Muema says that playing for the Seattle Seahawks is his dream which was part of the reason he left. The other part? Muema says that God told him to leave because the Seahawks are going to draft him.
“Running backs competed in afternoon drills at Lucas Oil Stadium. Muema, the fourth leading rusher in Aztecs history, did not participate. He said he was “following God,” who told him if he missed workouts, he’d play for the Seattle Seahawks.”
Playing for Seattle is his “dream,” Muema said. NFL teams are aware of the decision.
“(God) told me to sit down, be quiet, and enjoy the peace,” he said.
I’ve never been the person to knock anything that someone believes in, especially when it comes to religion. But it’s going to be hard to explain to NFL general managers and coaches about walking out on the combine. Let’s just hope that Muema gets the result that’s he is hoping for.
