So apparently, former Washington Redskin Dexter Manley is a frequent guest on WTOP in Washington. But after today Manley will no longer be a frequent guest on WTOP. In fact, he will no longer be a guest at all.
During an appearance Monday morning with Mike Moss and Bruce Alan of WTOP, Manley was asked if Troy Aikman jinxed the Redskins because he was on hand calling the game. And from there Manley goes off the rails.
The off the rails moment was transcribed by DC Sports Bog:
“Was it a big jinx that Troy Aikman was doing the game, the former Cowboy?” Manley was asked at the end of the segment.
“I think Troy was a queer,” Manley said.
The hosts immediately made it clear that this wasn’t a topic for humor, and encouraged Manley to step back.
“I’m sorry about that,” he said. “I take that back….I apologize.”
The apology was too little too late as WTOP quickly announced that Manley would not be returning as a guest.
