College Football Week 3 Retrospection: Where Bo Pelini has joined Mack Brown on the hot seat

Week 3 is in the books and things are heating up in Austin and Lincoln. It’s time for retrospection.

The seat below Mack Brown is now on fire

Another week, another loss for Mack Brown. This week it was a 44-23 beating at the hands of Ole Miss.

Things are so bad that after a touchdown drive, a PSA starring Brown was shown on the Jumbotron at Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium and fans promptly booed the mere sight of Brown.

And to top it off, Brown now has Willie Lyles, yes that Willie Lyles, offering Texas his “services.”

The end seems to be nigh for ol’ Mack Brown.

The seat below Bo Pelini is not on fire yet, but it’s getting warm

Bo Pelinii watched his Cornhuskers jumped on UCLA early to the tune of 21-3. He then watched his Cornhusker give up 38 unanswered points in a 41-21 loss to UCLA.

Pelini may not be on the hot seat, but at least one Cornhusker great is calling for his head. That being former Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Tommie Frazier.

After letting it sink in for about 4 hours I still struggling. It’s time to get rid of the defensive play caller, the Dc, lb dl and db coaches. I hate saying this but this crap is getting old. How in the hell do you not make adjustments or put your players in the position to compete? If this is what is going to happen for the remainder of the season, count me out. I don’t care if we lose a game but the way we are losing is just not what #Nebraska fans deserve. I have fought, bled, and cried over this program. I didn’t do all that for the program to become what it has today. Time for change! I will comment about the offense this week on Tommie’s X’s and O’s. Trust me you don’t want to miss it. #Huskers

Yeah, Bo Pelini is in some trouble in Lincoln.

Alabama-Texas A&M didn’t disappoint

We got everything we could ask for out of the matchup between Alabama and Texas A&M. It was a heavyweight fight that brought out the best on both sides.

We got to see Nick Saban and Alabama get down early, make adjustments, and claw back into the game. And we also got to see Johnny Manziel and Texas A&M deal with a ton of success early, then hang in there in a game that could’ve easily gotten out of hand.

There’s not much more that we could’ve asked for here, except maybe a rematch. And the way the BCS is set up, that could potentially happen.

Johnny Manziel the quarterback didn’t disappoint either

But Johnny Manziel’s the tackler did disappoint

Wisconsin got screwed by PAC-12 referees

With 18 seconds left in a 32-30, Wisconsin quarterback Joel Stave attempted to center the ball and take a knee. We can only assume that Stave would then get Badgers back at the line to kill the clock with a spike, but before any of that happened, Arizona State defenders dived on the ball.

The referees seemingly confused by what was going on, failed to re-spot the ball in a timely manner and  the clock ran out giving Arizona State the victory.

And then a rather pleased Jen Bielema entered the fray

In case you’re wondering, Jen Bielema is the wife of former Wisconsin coach Brett Bielema. And yes, she tweeted this on the heels of Wisconsin’s controversial loss.

And finally, is this the best College Gameday sign of all time? Quite possibly
