There’s a major shakeup going on over at CBS Sports. Last week, Awful Announcing broke the surprising news that NFL columnist Mike Freeman would be moving on from CBS Sports and joining Bleacher Report. And now, No Guts, No Glory has learned that NFL columnist Clark Judge will also be leaving CBS Sports.
Shortly after those columns went live on CBSSports.com, Judge’s Twitter account went silent and his name was removed from the CBSSports.com NFL Columnist page. A cached version of the page from July 29 shows both Judge’s and Freeman’s names prominently displayed . With Judge’s and Freeman’s departure, CBS Sports heads into the NFL season with a thin roster of Pete Prisco, Jason La Canfora, and Pat Kirwan to cover the league.
It’s unclear if Judge left on his own for greener pastures like his former colleague Freeman, or he was forced out. It’s also unclear where Judge will eventually land. But one thing is clear; things are changing at CBS Sports. And from what I’ve been told, there are more changes to come.
