Ryan Braun was able to skate the last time MLB had him in their crosshairs, but this time they finally got him. Braun has been suspended for the rest of the MLB season for his role in the infamous Biogensis case.
If you remember, Braun denied from the moment his first suspension was announced that he ever took PEDs. But this time, Braun even agreed to admit publicly his wrongdoing in a statement released by MLB.
Here’s the statement that was released:
“As I have acknowledged in the past, I am not perfect,” Braun said in a statement released by MLB. “I realize now that I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions. This situation has taken a toll on me and my entire family, and it has been a distraction to my teammates and the Brewers organization. I am very grateful for the support I have received from players, ownership and the fans in Milwaukee and around the country.
“Finally, I wish to apologize to anyone I may have disappointed — all of the baseball fans especially those in Milwaukee, the great Brewers organization, and my teammates. I am glad to have this matter behind me once and for all, and I cannot wait to get back to the game I love.”
So, that’s one down. Now remember, there’s a report that as many as 20 players are facing suspensions. So we’ll see who’s next.
And this news just about guarantees that Jon Heyman’s report that Alex Rodriguez is all but assured a major suspension is 100% true.
