Colin Kaepernick is working on getting faster this offseason

colin kaepernickAs expected, Colin Kaepernick is spending much of his offseason trying to build on the success he and the 49ers had last season. Which is scary enough for the other 31 teams in the league.

But there is one offseason goal that Kaepernick has that should be really scary for those other teams. And that’s an ever faster Colin Kaepernick in 2013.

According to the Sacramento Bee, Kaepernick has been training in Atlanta with track athletes and focusing strictly on getting faster. And it’s not like he’s hoping that this training will result in a little more breakaway speed, he’s expecting it to.

The 49ers quarterback spent the last two weeks training with track athletes in Atlanta, including former all-American Monica Hargrove, a specialist in the 200 and 400 meters.

He believes he can get faster and more efficient with his stride, and he spent his time on the track doing just that.

Coming out of Nevada, Kaepernick ran a 4.53 40 yard dash at the NFL combine. If he’s somehow able to better that 40 time with this training, well it just wouldn’t be fair.
