On Monday, Tiger Woods decided to announce to the world that he and Lindsey Vonn were dating by posting Glamour shots and releasing a statement about the relationship on his Facebook page. Historically, this is not a Tiger Woods move.
The old Tiger Woods would do everything in his power to keep each and every one of you out of his personal affairs. But on this particular occasion, he decided to let everyone in on the relationship.
Why? Well, not because he really wants you to know about his personal affairs. But because he wanted to stick it to the paparazzi that were following him around trying to get the first photos of the couple.
“We’re very happy where we’re at, but also we wanted to limit the stalkerazzi and all those sleazy websites that are out there following us,” Woods said Wednesday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. “I’ve had situations where it’s been very dangerous for my kids and the extent they’ll go to.
“We basically devalued the first photos.
“Unfortunately, that’s just the way it is in our society right now, and we felt like it was the best thing to do. I’m very happy about it.”
So that’s why we were force fed Glamour shots instead of seeing grainy photos from TMZ of the couple leaving a restaurant.
