Derrick Rose has been cleared to play, but in his mind, he’s not quite ready yet. We’ve seen him in warm-ups and even dunking a basketball, but we haven’t seen enough to really know how close he really is.
But someone who has seen him enough to know is Chicago Bulls television analyst, Stacey King. And King’s opinion, Rose will come back to play this season. But King didn’t stop there during his appearance on “The Carmen & Jurko Show” on ESPN 1000. He also went as far as to say that he thinks Rose will be back in the next week to 10 days.
“He’s coming back. I don’t know when. He’s coming back,” King said on “The Carmen & Jurko Show” on ESPN 1000 on Thursday. “He’s coming back for this season.
“I wouldn’t be surprised, me personally, this is just my hunch — I’m not a doctor and I didn’t sleep at Holiday Inn either — but I think it’s going to be very quickly. I think it’s going to be in the next week to 10 days.”
That’s a pretty strong statement. But King has a good reason to make such a statement. And it involves Rose getting some of his explosiveness back.
“I saw him work out (Wednesday) in Sacramento,” King said. “It was probably the most explosive I’ve seen him since he’s been back. He looked really, really good. He was jumping off the (left) leg. He was working with coach Ron Adams. And he looked very, very explosive.”
Rose has already stated that he has no problem missing the entire season. So if you see Rose back, you can bet he’s very close to 100%.
