Reason #1: The player currently doesn’t have a job so he’s willing to play for just about anyone.
Reason #2: The player is either from New York or currently lives in New York and signing with the Jets would either bring the player home or prevent the player from having to move.
After being released by the New York Giants, running back Ahmad Bradshaw falls into both of these categories. And that’s why it was fairly easy for him to say that he’s “excited” to consider playing for the Jets on NFL Network’s NFL AM on Tuesday.
“The New York Jets are a team that I’m excited to hear about, just to stay home, not make a big move from New York,” Bradshaw said Tuesday morning on the NFL Network’s NFL AM show. “It’s just right across the street from where I am now.”
But before Jets fans get too excited about finally ridding themselves of Shonn Greene, Bradshaw cautions that if the Giants come calling again, he’ll head back to Big Blue.
“You know what? In playing with the Giants, they had mentioned that there was a chance for me to come back, and I’m always up for that,” Bradshaw said. “But whatever. Whoever needs me, whoever can use me, whoever I feel that I can get a better chance of playing and helping which team.”
With all the issues that the Jets have had running the ball, even an injury prone Bradshaw would be an upgrade for the Jets.
