Of course, Rex Ryan was voted the most overrated coach in the league by NFL players

Look what we have here. Another poll asking NFL players who is the most overrated *fill in the blank* in the NFL.

A couple of weeks ago, Sports Illustrated asked NFL players who were the most overrated players in the league. And like clockwork, Jets quarterbacks Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez were voted No. 1 and No. 2.

The Sporting News decided that they would do their own poll of NFL players, but they would ask who the most overrated coach in the NFL is. And like clockwork, Jets head coach Rex Ryan took the top spot.

Here is the breakdown:

Rex Ryan, Jets 35

Bill Belichick, Patriots 16

Andy Reid, Eagles 9

Mike Shanahan, Redskins 8

Mike Tomlin, Steelers 4

Jeff Fisher, Rams 3

Jim Harbaugh, 49ers 3

Norv Turner, Chargers 3

Pete Carroll, Seahawks 2

Jason Garrett, Cowboys 2

John Harbaugh, Ravens 2

Six coaches received one vote

And just for good measure, an AFC player rubbed a little salt into Ryan’s overrated wound.

His coaching style is over the top. Some of the things he does in front of the cameras are way over the top. You put that with the New York media and he has a pretty big reputation, I guess. I don’t even know if you’d call him overrated anymore because it’s gonna be a couple of years since he was in the AFC finals. He’s pretty funny, and he’s a pretty good coach. But not THAT good.”

So let’s recap. The Jets have the two most overrated quarterbacks in the league AND the most overrated coach in the league.

It’s has to be hard to be a Jets fan these days.
