An emergency landing was not going to stop Alabama fans from getting to the Ole Miss game

Here’s a tale of persistence, quick thinking, and just plain old Alabama football fandom.

A group of Alabama fans found themselves stranded in a cotton field in Selma, Alabama when their plane had to make an emergency landing because of a failed engine.

But instead of calling for help and waiting for authorities to come, the group hitch-hiked to Montgomery, Alabama and from there rented a car to drive to Tuscaloosa.

When police arrived on the scene to investigate why a plane was just sitting in a random cotton field, they found no one with the plane. Probably because Roll Tiding on a Saturday night is far more important than a plane that had to be landed in a cotton field.
