If you know anything about Wisconsin football, you understand that it’s all about the offensive line. Yeah, they have Montee Ball and Russell Wilson put great numbers for the Badger last season, but none of that matters. They pride themselves in having a great offensive line.
So when the Badgers could only muster 7 points against Oregon State on Saturday, someone apparently had to go. And according to Madison.com, that someone was offensive line coach Mike Markuson.
Markuson, who was hired just this offseason, is out as offensive line coach after the Badgers struggled to run the ball in its first two games. In their 10-7 loss to Oregon State, the Badgers ran for 35 yards on 23 attempts and the offensive line gave up 3 sacks totally 35 yards in losses.
Quality control coach on offense, Bart Miller will reportedly take over Markuson’s duties as offensive line coach.
