Venus Williams was ousted in the 2nd round of the US Open Thursday night by sixth-seeded Angelique Kerber in three sets, 6-2, 5-7, 7-5. While Williams was undoubtedly disappointed with her performance, German reporters in attendance were much more disappointed in the antics of Williams’ supporter Vivica Fox.
Fox was routinely cheered and challenged calls much to the dismay of reporters in attendance. And luckily for us, Ben Rothenberg of the New York Times chronicled it all on his Twitter account.
A German reporter is complaining to me about Vivica A. Fox’s tennis etiquette here tonight. “I liked her in Independance Day, but…” #USOpen
