From the looks of things, Belgium Olympic cyclist Gijs van Hoecke had a really good time on this particular night in London. As you can see, he had such a good time that he couldn’t walk by night’s end.
Unfortunately for Van Hoecke, someone took pictures of how much of a good time he had and those pictures ended up in several British and Belgian newspapers. Predictably, the Belgian Olympic Committee was none too pleased and they decided to tell the 20-year-old to leave London.
Van Hoecke told Belgium’s VRT radio and television network that he regretted what happened, but he was just “letting off some steam” after two years of hard work.
Still, he said “it would have been better if I had not done that here … in London.”
