Lakers are reportedly committed to trading Pau Gasol

This shouldn’t surprise you seeing as though the Lakers have already traded Pau Gasol once on to have the trade rescinded by David Stern. But now it seems that the Lakers are getting desperate to trade Gasol. So desperate that they are reportedly very open about their willingness to take back less talent in return if someone would just take him off their hands.

The Lakers are committed to moving Pau Gasol — the fall guy for their second-round ouster against the Thunder and previous playoff failures — even if they have to take back less talent. As long as Heisley retains the Grizzlies, Memphis will always have interest. Heisley has always wanted to bring Gasol back, pairing him with his brother, Marc.

It’s obvious the Lakers won’t get equal value when they do trade Gasol. Getting equal value for both sides in any trade in the NBA almost impossible. But the fact Lakers are willing to take a lesser deal when perfectly good deals were reportedly on the table shows you how much they’ve soured on Pau Gasol.

But then again, this is NBA trade and free agency rumor season, so take it all with a grain of salt.

  1. Gasol is not that great of an asset if you ask me. Kind of clumsy in my opinion when it comes to the hoops.
