Since being suspended for one game for failing a drug test last season, Georgia running back Isaiah Crowell has been able to keep himself on the straight and narrow. But all that changed early Friday morning when the former prep star was arrested on three weapons charges.
According to the AJC, Crowell was arrested at a vehicle check-point stop and was booked at 3:37 a.m. on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a weapon in a school zone and an altered ID mark.
The UGA Student-Athlete handbook calls for an “immediate suspension from athletic competition” for any student-athlete than has a felony arrest, so it looks like Crowell will miss some time.
The arrest comes at the most inopportune time for Crowell with Georgia bringing in such a talented class of running backs. It wouldn’t be the least bit surprising if Crowell never play another down at Georgia again.
