That’s because according to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, the St. Louis Rams will trade the No. 2 overall pick to the Washington Redskins for future first round picks as well as additional picks.
The Washington Redskins have agreed to a trade with the St. Louis Rams in which Washington will receive the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft — and plan to use it to select Heisman Trophy-winning Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III, FOXSports.com has learned.
Washington is trading up from the No. 6 pick in the April 26 draft.
The trade cannot become official until the start of the new league year, which begins next week.
Under the deal, the Redskins and Rams will swap first-rounders this year. The Rams also will receive future first-round picks as well as additional draft picks, one of which is believed to be a second-rounder, sources said.
