John McClain just rained on the “Peyton Manning is interested in the Houston Texans” parade.

Just in case you don’t know who John McClain is, he writes for the Houston Chronicle. And based on the tweet above, any Texans fan dreaming of Manning joining the Texans should just forget it.

Pretty harsh there, John.

But McClain didn’t stop there. He went ahead and wrote about the multiple reasons why Peyton Manning isn’t really an option for the Texans. Much like we did last night.

Teams don’t know if he’ll play again. The Texans have Matt Schaub, whose rehab from foot surgery is ahead of schedule. Schaub works out almost every day. T.J. Yates is the backup. Matt Leinart is third.

Think about the Texans’ offense.

That’s not Manning’s offense. He doesn’t roll out and throw the boot. He’s a pocket passer. Manning will go to a team that plays the same offense and is willing for him to basically run it because that’s what he did so well with the Colts until his three neck operations.

So forget about Manning coming to the Texans. It’s not going to happen.

Welp, it was fun while it lasted.

The Texans with Peyton equal Super Bowl period. And if I were Peyton I would join them for free just to play Irsay’s New Era Horseshoes twice a year. It would be even better if I could play them 3 times a year, but that could never happen, because I would most likely retire after 5 or 6 years and the New Era Horseshoes will never see a PLAYOFF game before then !!!

  2. Frank Howard says:

I don’t believe the Texans will get as far as they did this pass season with Peyton because the Texans should keep what the have and prefect it,only one thing the defense is ready with or without Mario Williams.we are play off or Superbowl bound if the Texans don’t be like the other Houston teams,TRADING !
