According To Inquirer Writer, 76ers Will Look To Trade Andre Iguodala This Offseason

The Philadelphia 76ers surprised everyone by making the playoffs and now boasts one of the NBA’s young and upcoming teams. With that said, it looks like 76ers coach Doug Collins is trying to make a change and it’s a big one. According to 76ers’ beat writer Kate Fagan, Collins likes his young core players led by Jrue Holiday and Thaddeus Young. So the plan this offseason will be to trade Andre Iguodala for another wing man or a big man.

Fagan says that two names come up when thinking about trading Iguodala are Memphis’ Rudy Gay and Los Angeles Clippers’ Chris Kaman. Fagan thinks the trade for Rudy Gay could happen due to “the Grizzlies making an impact in the Western Conference playoffs without Gay, who went down with a shoulder injury late in the season”. As for Kaman, she points out that “Kaman has only one year remaining on his contract – $12.2 million for the 2011-12 season. He also would provide talent and experience in the low post, while relieving the franchise of a good chunk of the remaining millions on Iguodala’s contract”.

Looks like things are going to be interesting in Philly this offseason.
