Charlie Manuel Says It’s Ok To Boo Cole Hamels, Not That It Matters To Phillies Fans

To say Cole Hamels is struggling is an understatement. At this point, we may need to come up with a better word to describe Cole Hamels. But I’ll leave that part up to you. I’ll give a few minutes to mull over that…..

Got one?

Good.

So now that you’ve come up with your new moniker for Cole Hamels, let’s turn out attention to Hamels’ most recent start on Tuesday. Boy, was it bad. And of course, Phillies fan booed, booed, and booed some more. There was so much booing that manager Charlie Manuel had to address it with reporters before Wednesday’s game.

And surprise! He’s ok with it.

Charlie Manuel said he understood why fans at Citizens Bank Park chose to boo Cole Hamels after one of the worst starts of his career Tuesday night. “It’s part of baseball,” the manager said in the dugout before Wednesday’s game.

“If they pay money to come see us, and they feel like they don’t like something, they’ll let you know or whatever, and you’ve got to handle that,” Manuel said.

And there’s your license to boo Cole Hamels Phillies fans. Not that you needed one.
