It was reported Monday that the NFLPA was working on a plan to have the top draft prospects boycott this year’s draft. Well, Patrick Peterson has a different plan that includes going to the NFL draft. Peterson who is the top DB prospect in the draft says no one has contacted him about boycotting, but plans to go either way.
“I heard about that,” Peterson said. “No one has contacted me to go to New York or not go to New York. I would like to go if possible. That’s what you play football for.
“That’s a big moment to go up there and shake the commissioner’s hand and get that jersey and hat. It means a lot. I definitely want to go, and no one has told me not to go. So, we’ll see what happens. “
It’s good that Peterson wants to attend the draft because that is a once in a lifetime experience. The NFLPA should realize that many of these guys have dreamed of walking across the stage at the draft to shake the commissioner’s hand. The NFLPA should consider that.
