Michigan shows Rodriguez to the door

Rich Rodriguez After a dismal three years, a 15-22 record and a 52-14 blowout at the hands of Mississippi State in the Gator Bowl, the Rich Rodriguez experiment at Michigan is over.

Rodriguez was fired early today by athletic director David Brandon.

Before becoming the head man at Michigan, Rodriguez built a winning reputation at his Alma mater, West Virginia, and was the most desired coach in the country after the 2007 season.

At West Virginia, Rodriguez led the team to a 60-26 record with 5 Big East titles in 7 seasons.

While in Ann Arbor, Rodriguez won a total of 6 division games in Big Ten play over his 3-year tenure.

Along with losing, Rodriguez’ time at Michigan was marred by player criticism and the breaking of NCAA rule violations.
