The NFL Should Stay Away From Thursday Night Games

The NFL already has t.v. viewers full attention on Sunday’s and Monday nights from September til New Year’s. So why try to compete for viewers on Thursday nights too?

I’m not the only one that disagrees with this decision. Baltimore Raven great, Ray Lewis, doesn’t feel that its in the best interest of players to play a game after only four days of rest.

In terms of having America’s primetime slot, those opportunities already exist, they’re called Sunday Night Football on NBC and Monday Night Football on ESPN.

Thursday Night Football began in 2006 and airs on NFL Network. The venture between the NFL and the cable companies has proven to be a lucrative business move at the expense of the players and the rest of network television.

As for me, I’ll be watching the NBA on TNT, Celtics v. Heat, and 30 Rock. Aside for die NFL fans, their families and spouses. No one else will be watching the Ravens v. the Falcons tonight. Okay, maybe I’ll sneek a peek here and there, but football on Thursdays is still a bad idea.

  1. at the very least, they should stay away from Matt Millen and Joe Theisman in the booth….at the same time. My head wanted to explode.
