Josh Hamilton wins AL MVP

Josh Hamilton Texas Rangers left fielder, Josh Hamilton, was selected as the AL’s 2010 MVP earlier today.

Hamilton, who has a had a tumultuous career, was the the number one overall draft pick in the 1999 MLB Draft.
By 2001, less than two years later, he was out of baseball due to drug and alcohol addiction.

Since returning to the majors in 2007, with the Reds, Hamilton has gradually grown into the player he was expected to be over a decade ago. He was traded to the Texas Rangers in 2008.

In addition to leading his team to the 2010 AL Pennant, the 3-time All-Star hit 32 home runs and led the AL with a .359 batting average.
