What We Learned: College Football’s Week 8

Boise State is not going to play for the National Title.

After looking at the past two BCS standings, it has been made clear that the computers do not love Boise State. For the past two weeks they have been jumped by teams that are ranked below them. There is a chance that Boise State might be ranked #1 in both polls, but not be ranked #1 in the BCS.

Michigan State is this year’s version of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

I see the same lucky bounces for Michigan State that Iowa was getting last season. Northwestern dominated that game from start to finish, but lost on a touchdown that was tipped into the receiver hands. The difference between last years’ Iowa team and this year’s Michigan State team is I think Michigan State will run the table.

Mark Richt is slowly but surely getting off the hot seat.

Georgia has a three game winning streak heading into the Cocktail Party against Florida, who is on a three game losing streak. I have to give Richt credit because I thought he was gone after this year, but he has turned Georgia around. If he beats Florida, he will make it to next season without a doubt.

Robert Griffin is the top QB in the Big 12.

If you watched some of Baylor’s games (I know many of you haven’t), you would know that he is one of the most underrated players in college football. Baylor is bowl eligible for the first time since 1994 and guess what? The Bears have a half game lead in the Big 12 standings. I think his coming out party will be against Texas.

  1. Seriously who writes this stuff for ngng? There are zero comments because the insight is terrible. Consider your article about the 5 most overated teams of Iowa, Oregon, TCU, LSU and NC. Well, I would say the comments posted about these ridiculously wrong predictions were correct. It is Halloween today and yesterday Oregon destroyed USC 53-32 and Iowa blew out the number 5th ranked Michigan State 37-6. TCU is still undefeated. LSU to date has lost only one game. That loss came to now number 1 ranked and undefeated Auburn. They lost by only a touchdown! The only team that comes close to being disappointing on your list is NC with a record of 5-3.
So, I must concur with other comments…you're an idiot, who now must eat his words
