Let’s Start The Week With The Story Of The Colts Fan Questioned By Police For Damages To A Jacksonville Hotel

We all know that NFL fans take their team’s games serious, but this is on a different level. The manager of the Homewood Suites and Hilton Garden Inn in Jacksonville claims that he has an estimated $1 million in damages that was caused by a drunk and angry Colts fan. The manager says that the hotel was flooded from the 5th floor down to the lobby just hours after the Jaguars beat the Colts.

To the police report.

According to a police report, hotel workers noticed a “severely intoxicated and angry” Colts fan hanging around the lobby around 3 a.m. Monday.

After the flooding began, the desk clerk said a room of Colts fans went down to the front desk wanting more rooms and said that they could not find their “drunk” friend, according to the report.

The police report says officers located and questioned 29-year-old Ian Taylor, of Clearwater. Taylor admitted he was drunk and did not remember anything, but he did tell police he wouldn’t tamper with the pipes, according to the report.

Mike Wilt, the manager of Sports Mania downtown, said he has plenty of experience dealing with football fanatics.

“I can’t see the understanding of destroying property,” Wilt said. “Maybe swearing under my breath, I don’t know. To mess with somebody’s property is just outrageous.”

Looks like Peyton Manning isn’t the only one causing damage on game day.
