Ines Sainz has decided that since what she wears when she does her job has become such a big deal, she’ll just stay far, far away from locker rooms. But Sainz hasn’t conceded all. She plans to continue to do her job and look good doing it.
“I’m not going into the locker rooms anymore,” she said at a press conference in Hollywood. “It’s not a good place right now for me. I don’t want to be in there. I need to wait one month to work again because I don’t want to be the focus. I’m not looking for that kind of publicity. It affects my career and development in the States.”
“I like to look good, but that in no way makes me any less dedicated to the sports journalism world,” she wrote to Goodell. “I’m proud of being a woman and I’m not shy about hiding it. However, this in no way makes me any less of a professional.”
And just how is Sainz planning to make her splash back onto the journalism scene? Why by just scoring an interview with a one Ben Roethlisberger, of course.
Her next assignment? She’ll interview, gulp, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who’s playing for the first time this season on Sunday. Roethlisberger just finished serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy because of incidents of inappropriate behavior toward women.
Welcome back, Ines. We missed those jeans.
